HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010
Firstly John and Steve would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year.
2009 wasn’t the most productive year for Rainfall as John has been the main carer for his sick mother and consequently hasn’t had much time to devote to Rainfall business. We did manage to get two books published towards the end of the year though, these being Mark West’s Conjure and Terror Tales #4 edited by John B. Ford and Paul Kane. The next book in the pipeline is The Night Eternal by Steve Lines and John B. Ford. This is a dark fantasy influenced by The Arabian Nights and written in the styles of William Hope Hodgson and Clark Ashton Smith. It will include over 30 b/w illustrations by Steve, plus maps, and hopefully an audio CDChapbook production was handed over to Steve and for a while he managed to publish a number of books before production difficulties (and lack of time) put a temporary halt to proceedings.We hope to get the chapbook schedule up and running again as soon as possible as we have a great selection of new books waiting in the wings, including new issues of Lovecraft’s Disciples,Weird Worlds, Thrilling Tales, E’ch Pi El and Strange Sorcery. We also have such Lovecraftian delights as Spores From Sharnoth & Other Madness, Shifting Sands, Rising of the Ancients and Lovecraft Digested and will be publishing material by such authors as Leigh Blackmore, John Hall, Andy McIlvain, Ran Cartwright and Franklyn Searight as well as many others.
Look out for a series of Zandor chapbooks (which didn’t make it last year) – these are anthologies of sword & sorcery/weird fantasy tales set on the planet of Zandor. Inspired by the writings of Smith, Burroughs, Howard, Carter, and Lovecraft these chapbooks will contain stories by some of today’s finest exponents of weird fantasy.On the CD front there are no imminent releases but we are expecting a new album or two from The Doctor’s Pond, a long awaited new album from Stormclouds, the debut album from Planes Falling and Steve says he’s working on a few new projects which may or may not see completion this year.So, Gods willing, plenty to keep you amused and entertained over the coming twelve months.
